As the world dives into critical conditions, both climatically and politically, one nation dies under the rubble of gossip and bad decisions. Pakistan has been a keen ally of both China and America in it’s 75 years of history. Beijing has supported Islamabad throughout, keeping it as the counterweight to Delhi. America has been utilizing the armed forces and region as a communication and operational hub against the Afghanistan Taliban. Sharing of intelligence and granting of excessive funds has been an American relationship for years. However, ever since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, Pakistan has lost it’s superior knowledge of the region and relations, since now America has a direct line with the Taliban leaders. China too, unfortunately, has lost interest in Pakistan after the switch in government. But how is Pakistan taking the grunt?

Recently Pakistan has ordered it’s 1.5 million Afghani refugee population to vacate Pakistan immediately. The headlines mention all those with illegal documents or those who made it to the southern provinces via indirect routes, both literally and figuratively. This decision is massively detrimental to the relationship Pakistan has with Afghanistan, and is also a domestic problem. The Afghani or Khyber population is a proud and hardworking group of people. Maximum number of traders belong to these regions, and most of the dry fruit, logistics, spice, and both legal and illegal trade worth billions take place because of the existence of this population. The Afghani settlers are by far the hardest working population in Pakistan. They are deep in the logistics and trade business, taking advantage of both language and heritage, they ease the process of delivery of goods to and from Afghanistan. To replace this work force may seem like a reasonable task on paper, due to the massive population of Pakistanis, however the culture digs deeper than that.

Afghan’s and the people of Khyber will take this move as a personal one, and one with vendetta involved. The majority of trade that takes place in the North West border with Afghanistan runs on relationships and bribes. However, if Pakistan follow through with this position, the Afghani’s, as per sources, will look to cause disruption and bleed the trade routes dry. If the Western frontier of Pakistan begins to suffer, again after the war on terror, the trade routes will become obsolete and will definitely cost Pakistan both human resources and a very prominent stream of national income. The personnel changes may occur, but the existing experience and expertise cannot be replaced in a matter of days but a prolonged matter of time. Dangerous routes and local know-how is a difficult concept to grasp by members of different provinces. Pakistan is wrongly signing away its safe existence within the region, as this allows both Iran and India to take advantage of these negative moves.

China, although diplomatic, has slowly removed itself from the development projects that take place in Pakistan. The Economic Corridor now comes to a stand still, as the nation faces high inflation and inconsistent policies to maintain its domestic and international economic situation. After the shift in government, The American bloc gained favor as the new government decided to stray from Russia and China. The backlash of this is seen as Pakistan is not on the list of 27 countries that have been nominated to join the BRICS bloc.

America itself now faces graver situations in the East, as their Police Watch nation Israel comes under threat, the Americans lose interest in Pakistan. Pakistan provided a communication channel and bases for American forces to operate from and continue dialogue with the Taliban prior to their siege. However, ever since Taliban has achieved a direct link with American personnel’s, Pakistan now provides no real gain. India with it’s massive population is a greater and cooperative market that allows for swift growth and income, for which America has been a great customer. As Boeing, Apple, and Lockheed Martin begin their operations Eastwards in India.

Thus, the question arises, Pakistan who? Pakistan has 4 national borders and a single sea border, all of which were once a huge port and trading advantage, have now become a negative and dangerous disadvantage. The credibility of the country, and it’s constant exodus, may cause Pakistan to become the next Libya or Syria very soon.
