Liberalism championed itself as the forefront for equality, free market economics, individualism, and most importantly tolerance. Tolerance has been considered one of the core principles of liberalism since its advent from John Locke. Credited to Voltaire, however sources differ and say Elizabeth Beatrice Hall was the one who, initially said, “I do not agree with what you are saying, but I will defend to my death your right to say it”. Freedom of speech, expression, right to life, to privacy etc. All these notions entrenched within human rights charters and policies to make Europe and the West a liberal forefront for new ways of governance and acceptance.

However fancy and inviting this all seems recent years have proven otherwise. Europe hates Islam. There is no differing opinion, there is no debate, there is an underlying tone of Islamaphobia within all those who reside within the tolerant west. This isn’t a declaration of war, a declaration of hatred, or equivalence in an anti-west scheme. Au contraire this is the demand of the East for the world to accept its flaws and live with the falsehood of its righteousness.

The tolerance the world is exposed to is as follows, if you follow the ideals within the gambit of Western ideologies, then the sphere of tolerance applies. However, if you differ in opinion to laws and policies of the West, then you are the enemy. This was blatantly seen at the World Cup, exceptionally hosted by Qatar, who were constantly rambled on for their anti-LGBTQ stance. The broadcast on any Western media was prominent in showing how uncomfortable the World Cup was to watch and reside during its tournament. The international community gathered to bombard Qatar, and they showed their true colors, whereby protesting at any given time. Women angered by the clothing limitations, as Qatar is a conservative nation, and purposely instigated officials by not listening. Yet, in France, if you wore a Burqa/Hijab, a statute would be drafted specifically for you to reveal yourself.

More power to you. No one denies your right to have that stance. However, the world is confused. They are unaware of your true colors and your actual perspectives. Thus, the only solution that arises is a very fair one without malice – Declare your despite for the Religion of Islam, its believers, it’s lifestyles. Declare that if you wish to land safely on international shores of Europe or America, then you must follow the ideals of those lands, or return home. And for those who wish to flee, the same rule applies to you. If you are unhappy in your home nation and you seek refuge, do not bestow your religious practises onto others, they are doing well and fine without it. But be prepared and be aware that the world expects you to follow in their footsteps, and no other form is allowed.

The Liberal West if true to itself, even though they have done their best on the policy making forum to devise protection and refuge for the wars they have caused, I.e. Syria and Iraq. The domestic mindset remains against the immigrant communities. Thus, the gambit of law making should not be targeted solely on the immigrants but also on the communities that welcomed them. It would be best to disallow the burning of religious scriptures as the Danish have begun protesting, regardless of belief. But it is time the world decided its true nature and not lied. There is no harm in believing and accepting your disregard and disrespect towards a certain belief, that is the right you have granted yourself and none shall take it. But the world is still unaware of your lack of acceptance. Thus, be honest with the world, and declare that liberalism has once again, Failed.
